F.A.Q.

Fees

Individual Therapy for Adults or Teens is $175 for a 50 minute session.

Couples or Family Therapy is $190 for a 60 minute session.

I also offer 75 minute and 90 minute sessions with an adjusted fee.

All payments can be made online via credit, debit, or HSA card.

Insurance

While I am considered an out-of-network provider, I am more than happy to provide monthly statements (i.e. superbills) for you to submit to your insurance company for reimbursement.

Video or In-Person

I offer teletherapy on Zoom to all California residents and in-person therapy at my Oakland, located across the street from Lake Merritt.

Cancellation Policy

I ask that clients cancel 24-hours prior to our scheduled session time. If you are unable to cancel 24-hours in advanced, then I recommend rescheduling our session for another time in the same week, rather than skipping or being charged for a late cancellation. Exceptions will always be made for emergencies.

Confidentiality Policy

Therapy is completely confidential, meaning that whatever is shared or discussed in our sessions remains private and is only on occasion shared with my clinical supervisor Cara Zeisloft LCSW #21892 for the purposes of improving the therapy treatment. There are however, several legal circumstances under which I am mandated by law to break confidentiality and share information with a government protective agency (e.g. CPS, APS, etc), law enforcement, a psychiatric hospital, a court, or on occasion a loved one or parent. Please see the following legal exceptions:

  • If there is a plan and intent to take your life or attempt to take your life.

  • If there is a plan and intent to harm an identifiable other person (i.e homicide or severe bodily injury).

  • If there is suspicion of abuse or neglect of a minor. This also includes the sexual assault of one minor by another minor.

  • If there is suspicion of abuse or neglect of an elder or a dependent adult.

  • If therapy records are subpoenaed by a court order.

You can always give me written consent to share information about our therapy with another provider (i.e. doctor, psychiatrist, etc) or a loved one whenever you want.

Good Faith Estimate

You have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” explaining how much your mental health care will cost. Under the law, health care providers need to give patients who don’t have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the expected charges for medical services, including psychotherapy services.  Clients have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency healthcare services, including psychotherapy services. Clients can ask their health care provider for a Good Faith Estimate before scheduling a service.

For questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate, visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises.
